Volunteers at Company 1 didn't let the snow on the ground keep them from getting in some good training. The Training Officers had to change plans for their outdoor training when our 3rd snowstorm hit. Officers set-up 3 break-out sessions for volunteers in which members practiced line drills (full turn-out gear and on air), getting "packed-up" while seated and seatbelted in the apparatus, and vehicle stabilization. After the break-out sessions, volunteers put to use what they had just practiced in 2 mock drills; one fire and on MVC. During the drills, the volunteers had to accomplish everything they would have normally done on a real incident, except for flowing water (for the fire scene) and performing an actual extrication with hydraulic tools (for the MVC).
